’87 x ’88
Two of Tinker’s best-ever designs collide on one tribute shoe that’s got fans divided. One side has fallen in love with the Air Max 1-inspired “Tinker” Air Jordan 3, its removable patches and true-to-OG colorway. Others think it’s blasphemy removing the iconic elephant print. But whatever side of the fence you sit on, can all agree that this love letter to Tinker Hatfield is executed perfectly.
From the like-for-like suede overlays to the utilization of the grey outsole, the color and material choices have paid homage to the OG air perfectly — Although, we would have liked to have seen embroidered embellishments hit the Nike Air branding up the rear. It’s not all traditional, though, with it’s interchangeable Swoosh capability making its debut, similar to the University of Oregon exclusive PE that made waves last November.
Pairs are expected to release later this month, on March 30th, for $200. Stay tuned for details on how and when these will release — rumors are suggesting a limited drop. Until then, grab an official look at the offering below!
