Wild West-brook.
The triple-double magnet Russell Westbrook has just officially unveiled his newest signature shoe with Jordan Brand called the Why Not Zer0.2. For his sophomore sneaker, Russ wanted to go full technical to support his explosive style of play. Russell wanted to stay away from what’s “hot” and go pure performance.
But Jordan Brand wouldn’t put anything out without looking good, too. That’s their thing — taking tech-loaded sneakers and making them marketable. And they’ve managed to do just that — AND capture Russell’s wild personality and style in the design.
Since Russ’s time with Jordan Brand, the All-Star point guard has come on in leaps and bounds, maturing both on and off the court. But through it all, his unique sense of style has always shone through. Enough so that he even had a handful of signature off-court shoes before an on-court crep.
Following on from his first signature sneaker would always be a tough ask, but the team in Oregon are finally ready to launch his second in-game model, called the Why Not Zer0.2. The official images that landed today show a very de-then-reconcstructed approach, with each portion of the build distinguished by different materials. Much like a typical Westbrook outfit, it takes in several different elements to make one complete, concise, costume. Even the sole unit is encompasses two separate pieces, pieced together by an exposed mid-foot plate.
