Release Details for the “Chinese New Year” Air Jordan 33

Time to celebrate

Officially unveiled yesterday, Nike’s annual “Chinese New Year” Collection encompasses elements of years past. This year, being the 12th collection to date, it rounds up all 12 “Year of” animals, so we were expecting something symbolic from the team in Oregon.

They have delivered, of course — when don’t they?

Forming part of the pack is the Air Jordan 33, this year’s signature performance silhouette. And while it differs in materials from the collections Air Jordan retro, it does take on the same color scheme of black, metallic golds and the Chinese quilting pattern seen on the upper. Instead of silky uppers like those found on the 12, the 33 opts for patent leathers on the mudguards and tongue, but opts for the same white sole unit and red and gold hits throughout.
