Before even playing a single minute in the NBA, Zion Williamsonhad already become one of the league’s most recognizable stars. Thanks to a long-lead-in from high school Instagram videos, an incredible campaign at Duke — and even a blown-out shoe that caught international headlines. Of course, he backed it all up with incredible skill and dominance and was subsequently selected 1st overall by the Pelicans in the 2019 NBA draft. After that came the endorsements. Turning down an epic $100 million dollar offer from ANTA to join Jordan Brand for significantly less coin, there was always going to be a signature sneaker rolled into the deal, which, in itself is a big deal. Now, two years into his NBA career, Zion’s signature sneaker has finally been revealed — the Jordan Z Code — in this, its second colorway to appear.
After some close-up, early glimpses, the silhouette has finally been unveiled in full. In design, it leans much closer to the new generation of Jordans, delivering a look that slots somewhere in between the Air Jordan 34/35 and the multi-faceted Why Not Westbrook series. And in much the same form as the latter, this new colorway in black, white, and metallic gold colorway is reminiscent of what we’ve seen annually from Westbrook’s “Family” colorways; a monochrome upper, white midsole, and subtle metallic gold hits throughout. Zion, however, livens up the pair with a striking midfoot Z color-separator at the midfoot, icy outsoles, and graffiti-covered liners to boot.
Grab an official look at Zion’s newest signature colorway here below, and you should expect to see more colorways filtering through soon, as the Jordan Z Code is expected to debut this Spring.
