Celebrating one of China’s oldest traditions 🐲🛶
Dwayne Wade and his Chinese on-court partners Li-Nig will once again be celebrating one of the nation’s longest-standing traditions; the annual Dragon Boat Festival. Known as Duanwu Festival, the tradition has celebrated fealty (sworn loyalty) and filial piety (respect for one’s elders) with dragon boat racing for over 2,500 years.
Serving as a follow up to last year’s celebratory green and black Way of Wade 6, this years’ WoW 7 gets a little more colorful, sporting a traditionally vibrant palate which mimics that of one of the racing boats — even to the point of including gushing waves at the midsole’s heel. Needless to say, the pair is abundant in special motifs, etchings and detailing — all of which I can’t understand, but I bet it’s relevant AF.
As for a release, you can expect it to coincide with the annual festivities, which is held on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which this year happens to be on June 7th.
