2019 sees the New Balance icon, the 1500, celebrate its big 3-0. But even though the iconic silhouette first hit the shelves way back in 1989, it’s never been more prevalent in the culture than it is today. With the demand and historical importance stacking up, the Boston-based brand felt the need to retool the silhouette with new features for the 21st-century market — including the RevLite sole unit, reducing the sneaker’s weight by 30% — which is aptly named the New Balance 1530. We’ve seen the new take on an old classic a handful of times this year, and now there’s a new Made in England option available, dubbed “Desert Shade”
Arriving in earthy tan mesh, the pair arrives overlayed with buttery black leather at the top of the toe box, before the entire upper is doused in nappy tan suedes — perforated at the lateral heel. Tongues and collars arrive in black, leather on the former and mesh on the latter, while solid white midsoles and black rubber outsoles complete the design.
