With PaperBoy, Nice Kicks, YCMC, and DTLR recently delivering inspired efforts on the 992, New Balance looks to its in-house design team for its next release — this one with sustainability in mind. Though it doesn’t actually feature the material, the New Balance 992 “Raw Silk” instead opts for uppers of recycled polyester Spinnex textile and corked insoles/ankle trim. Elsewhere, typical ingredients appear, from supple pigskin overlays in the titular light tan hue, to dark tan rawhide at the tongue and heel, and the signature silver leathers throughout. Underfoot you’ll find a sail and silk midsoles, and a grind rubber-flecked gum rubber outsole.
