Sure, we’re all going gorillas over the news of Bodega’s New Balance 997S “No Days Off” will be releasing next week — but let’s be real about this: unless you’re willing to pay well over retail, you’re likely not going to be able to get your hands on a pair. Exclusivity is a bitch. But hey — these Techtonic Blue 997 Sports are a pretty decent consolation prize.

I still can’t believe the price point on this modernized, sport-infused take on the classic 997 — retailing at a wild $120. How do they manage to pour in quality materials like nappy suede and CORDURA fabrics — and excellent execution at that — for $40 cheaper than a pair of Air Jordan 1s? Unheard of. This offering is a little more market suitable than the previously-previewed “Prism Purple” pair that accompanies it, arriving in a classic cool grey paired with light navy blues and grey-blacks. Along with the speckle effect, pops of vibrant yellow through the pair’s the very extra sole unit adds more than enough intrigue to counter the traditionally designed, modern-material upper. Extra-thick traction underfoot makes these a perfect Fall-time choice — and again, that pricepoint makes it a no-brainer.

Love ’em? How could you not! Pairs have just landed and are available right here on NewBalance.com for a cool $120.
