We’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times; Deon Point and the Boston-based Concepts store is the best collaborative storyteller in the industry — by a mile. Last year alone saw the imprint experiment with Egyptian ideas in partnership with Kyrie, to otoro and silent films. Their roster for 2022 will once again be full to the brim, with NBA Draft Class-inspired Reebok Questions, to “Flying Cash” themed 57/40s. Now they’ve added what will be by far their most talked about yet, with not one, but two psychedelic-rock-inspired Air Max 1st

Both pairs share some communal textiles like washed blue denim, one more distressed than the other, real Brazilian bovine furs, embroidered Swoosh patches, and psychedelic CONCEPTS-branded collars. But despite these shared traits, the pairs are vastly different in appearance. One is significantly more vibrant with purple bandana mudguards, vibrant red liners, tongues, and laces, and striking green heel overlays, whilst the other rocks an almost white denim upper, camo overlays, and tan-gum liners, tongue, laces, and outsoles. There’s a bevy of extra details to be found, including fly-away stitching in the rear, flecked soles, and velour laces, as well as guitar pick hangtags, and trippy graphic boxes, too, amongst many more.

Official images of a third colorway (Mellow) have appeared — in both adults and toddler sizing! The pair once again boasts denim uppers, with floral Swooshes, monochrome paisley, and rich maroon liners all featuring. The pair is capped with green canvas guards, and rests atop a sail and cinder sole unit.

A release date for the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Mellow” has been set for Friday, March 5th at CNCPTS.com. A wider SNKRS and retailer release is currently set for March 12th.
