Nike SB has always been about the local skate scene. To this day, it’s a rarity for any of their ultra-hype releases to end up anywhere but grassroots skate shops. Their partnerships with retailers run deep, with countless collaborative efforts between retailers and Nike SB materializing over the years. This year alone we’ve had some bangers; Civilist, Strangelove, and Instant all delivering some of the best SB releases of the year. Now, Nike SB takes a trip over to Dubai, with FRAME SKATE tapped for the division’s next skate shop link-up. The result is the FRAME SKATE x Nike SB Dunk Low “Habibi”

Translated to “My Love” in Arabic, Habibi is a pet name often given to loved ones, family, friends, or romantic, but in this case, it appears to be a tribute to their home nation, the UAE. The nation’s colors of red, white, green, and black are well represented, with white uppers of tumbled leather and ripstop hosting red leather overlays, and dual Checks in textured black and green. Houndstooth laces in red and white channel traditional ghutra headwear and the pair comes complete with a sail midsole and gum rubber outsole, the latter ostensibly channeling the nation’s vast desert sands.
