Official Looks at the Magic-Themed Nike Air Foamposite One “1996 All-Star”

With banging releases from the Foamposite lineage in 2020, including the upcoming topographic-printed pair and the return of 2007’s “Anthracite”, many have begun to think that the foam-shelled sneaker was on a comeback. Then, Nike goes and ruins it all by reminding us just how ugly the sneaker can be with a release like this upcoming Nike Air Foamposite 1 “Black Aurora”.

The black-based pair arrives anchored in all-black, with shell uppers moving towards a Game Royal gradient at the toe. Pinstripe detail on the rear bootie and tongues indicates that this pays homage to Penny Hardaway and his Orlando Magic, whilst metallic star embroidery on the front face of the tongue pull, and insoles decorated in All-Star 1996 detail honor Penny’s selection in the San Antonio-hosted event. It’s obscure, tear-like print that graces the profile is a real head-scratcher, though, as its inspiration is unclear. Murdered-out sole units and carbon fiber shanks sit underfoot, and the pair is complete with royal blue tongue detail and branding hits throughout.
