Nike’s sustainable Crater Foam is popping up on just about everything of late, the Air Force 1 included. But whilst the other Uptowns have surfaced in relatively traditional constructions, this ladies-exclusive Air Force 1 Crater Foam throws the design manual out the window, delivering one of the most unique takes on the AF1 we’ve seen this year.
Following on from the previously-previewed “Barely Volt” offering comes this more subdued “Black/Photon Dust” rendition, which again utilizes the discernable Crater Foam midsole and grind-rubber capped outsoles, though the signature blue tint of the former has been omitted leaving the midsole mainly in crisp white. Uppers arrive in a completely new build, with layering gone, sections are merely stitched together with zig-zag stitching in (likely) recycled materials. Toes feature a stain glass-like finish, overlayed by a translucent sheath, whilst tongues, mid, rear, and eyelet panels all arrive in a smooth finish, and the pair is complete with the line’s signature yellow recycled insoles.
