The Air Force 1 never ceases to amaze us, with the pair’s seemingly limitless blocking options enabling the silhouette to bring fresh new takes on a weekly basis. Once more, the Beaverton team has delivered a new twist on Bruce Kilgore’s bonafide classic, this time adding customizable cut-away elements to this themed release.
Forming part of Nike’s wider “Alter & Reveal” Collection which, as the title suggests, features hidden details only visible through alteration. Here it’s a cut-away toe and mid panel, each displaying a hidden layer beneath. Elsewhere, material and color blocking is unique, with contrast-stitch suede toes in black — complete with mini Swoosh at the forefoot — textured red leather quarters, jet black patent leather Checks, and tan suede eyestay and heel overlays. The pair is then finished off by several elements shared across the collection, including zig-zag stitching, and “Alter & Reveal” branded tongues and insoles.
