Just Dropped // Nike Air Force 1 Low “Lion Dance”

Chinese New Year is full of color, cheer, and celebration. From fireworks to the Lion Dance, the nation sure knows how to ring in the new lunar year. And although the impending year is of the Tiger, the Lion will still make an appearance during the build-up to the event — and even in Nike’s footwear line-up, with this new kids-exclusive Air Force 1 Low CNY “Lion Dance” — seen here in an alternate red colorway.

Arriving in identical styling to the yellow-based pair previewed earlier this month, this too aims to mimic the overtly decorated Lion — though it is extremely minimal in comparison. Still, it aims to capture the historical essence of the costume through embroidery, fur, and even faux whiskers. The latter is seen just below a jade-colored nose and bold black eyes, with colorful embroidery working back towards furry ears at the midfoot. All of this rests atop a rich red canvas upper and bold blacks across the Swooshes, heel overlays, and laces. Orange continues the festive theme across the liners, while a modified 王 (King) tongue tag honors the beast. All of this sits atop a simple white sole unit to complete the design.

Though a release date did not accompany the image set below, you should expect to see pairs of these kids-exclusive Nike Air Force 1 “Lion Dance” (Red) arrive at select in time for Lunar New Year 2022.
