Nike will welcome the 2023 Lunar New Year with a smorgasbord of themed sneakers, from colorful creations that celebrate the festival’s vibrant fireworks and traditional prints to direct nods to the zodiac animal of the impending year, the rabbit. Last seen in 2011, the bunny graced classics like the Air Jordan 7 and the Air Force 1 in limited quantities. For 2023’s celebration of the leporids, the Swoosh will return to the Uptown, with a new rendition of the Air Force 1 Low “Year of the Rabbit” joining Nike Dunk Lows — and more — for the annual festival.
Anchored by white uppers and creamy overlays of smooth leather, the pair looks to play the whimsical game through carrot-inspired Swooshes and rear overlays of orange and green fur, with a chenille bunny leaping to the dangling treat on the lateral ankle. Asian-inspired illustrations dress the insoles, with streaking Swooshes all linking back to the overarching Nike Sportswear collection for the occasion. The pair is completed by furry tongue tips and a spare set of plush laces.
