Air Force 1 Mid “Bronx Bombers” Drops May 20

Both the Air Force 1 Mid and its Jewel Swoosh finish last spotted circa 2019, so right about now would be the right time to bring them back, right? Right. The Swoosh will do so, and along the way be honoring the city that turned the Hardwood heater into a streetwear staple through this special Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Bronx Bombers” — a pair that forms one half of a two-piece “NYC” Pack for release this Fall.

Mimicking the city’s most famous sports franchise, the pair presents in predominately white leather, with subtle hints at the Yankees and their Bronx borough location. Most obviously, pinstripe liners serve as an ode to the Yanks, with navy embroidery accents arriving around the horn to tie it back. Jewel Swooshes sit at the midfoot in milky white, while a classic gum rubber outsole underfoot is an ostensible ode to the infield at Yankee Stadium. In a final nod to the Bronx, the outsole’s pivot is dressed in the metro’s 6 Train green circle — a train that runs through the heart of the borough.

The pair is also accompanied by a “Concrete Jungle” creation that channels the countless constructions in the city.
