Nike Air Max 1 “Woof” (汪) Honors Man’s Best Friend

From collaborations with Patta and Concepts, NFT’s from Tinker, and a brand new model dubbed the Air Max Motif, things have been slowly picking up for the Air Max 1 and its 35th anniversary. All of this is coming to a head this week, where Nike celebrates all-thing Air Max on the 26th of March with a slew of regional releases, including the Wabi-Sabi, City of Light, and Blueprint colorways. Now a fourth pair has been revealed for the occasion, the Nike Air Max 1 “Woof” (汪) that comes inspired by man’s best friend.

From dog bone-shaped upper eyelets to faux fur tongues and bandanna overlays fit for a good boy, this playful take on the Air Max 1 is one of the most enjoyable efforts in a long while. It’s anchored in smooth cream leather, with alternating vamp overlays of tan and pink leather, furry lateral panels, and creamy beige medials. The aforementioned faux fur tongue sits in the middle, complete with oversize bandanna-branded tongues that read (Wang) — a dog’s woof. There are more paisley prints to be found on the mudguard overlays, with grassy insoles marrying up to vibrant volt liners, Air supports, and forefoot mini Swooshes, with sail midsoles and two-tone brown outsole rounding out the design. The pair then comes completed with special inclusions like Nike-branded dog tags, a Swoosh-laden bandanna, and special boxing.
