This Grey Nike Air Max 98 Heats Up with Hits of “Habanero Red”

Just last week we spoke about how absent the Air Max 98 has been of late, obviously taking the back seat whilst Nike focuses on the big-ticket anniversary items in the Air Max 90 and Air Max 95. But we did notice that there were still a few seeping through to shelves, including a thug’s delight black and grey and a crisp “Iron Grey” edition. And now, in a very similar fashion to the latter, a new Grey, Sail and Habanero Red rendition is on the way.

Like the aforementioned “Iron Grey” release, this pair utilizes a monochrome base and flushes it with vibrant red for effect, this time opting for the brand’s orange-tinted “Habanero Red”. Again, in similar styling, the upper is split between a myriad of greys shades, here with the darkest on the waffle mesh uppers, ripstop tongues and nylon liners. A light grey covers the pair’s sweeping leather mudguard, while the remaining overlays elect for an off-white finish. Sail sole units come popped with dark greys underfoot and house a vivid all-red Air support system, with the vibrant hue returning to the upper across the ribbon lacestays, embroidered Swoosh and heel detail to complete the design.
