It’s been a minute, but Nike’s Air Tailwind 79is back — and it’s bolder than ever. This all-new “Illusion Pack” presents two complementary silhouettes that channel the vibrancy and prints of Acronym’s Presto collaborations. The predominately black and white-based pairs work together with pops of volt — but the vivid hue is definitely not the highlight of the pack. Printed overlays and uppers from QR codes, grids, trippy spirals, vectorized graphics and repeating Swoosh prints cause cognitive chaos, each juxtaposed against sold blacks for effect. Sole units arrive in a sail mid/black outsole combos, with the former flecked with black and volt respectively. Completing the design is a special outsole print that shouts out Beaverton, the home of the Swoosh. Pairs also arrive complete with a duo of lace options, enabling the wearer to either ramp up or tone down their style.
Both pairs from the Nike Air Tailwind 79 “Illusion Pack” have already hit select Swoosh stores throughout Asia earlier this week, but we’re still waiting on confirmation of a Stateside drop.
