Throwback!
Old heads will remember the equally-old grey-striped Nike Shoeboxes, most notably housing the OG Air Max 1 (below) back in ’87. But this all-new Nike Air VaporMax Plus “Shoebox” isn’t the first sneaker to take on the retro packaging as its inspiration, featuring on the Nike Trainer 1 back in 2010, and as recently as last year on both the LeBron 15and Nike Air Force 270.
Like the aforementioned homage release, this VaporMax Plus sports the same two-tone diagonal grey stripe print and orange accents as the original Swoosh boxes, but instead flips the box on its head, opting for the grey up top and the orange down below. Nevertheless, the tribute will still strike a chord with OG Nike fans alike. Take a peep at the product shots below to see the flipped variation.
