Nike‘s continued push into the growing Asian market has resulted in many regional exclusives of late. And now, with the addition of this Nike Joyride Run Flyknit “Shanghai”, the ever-growing “City of Speed” collection of kicks is shaping up to be one of the biggest regional-exclusives we’ve seen in a long minute.

It joins an Air Force 1 Low, and Air Max 270 React, as well as an Epic React Flyknit 2 — and it’s only getting bigger as it migrates into the Swoosh Brand’s latest Joyride tech. Like the other releases, it arrives anchored in a white base and comes paired with metallic finishes. This time opting for gold, a long-standing symbol of wealth and riches in Chinese culture. Also aligning with the nation’s traditions, the Chinese lattice pattern is seen on previous releases (one that bears a remarkable similarity to CLOT’s famed pattern) returns, this time as a texture on the pair’s black overlays and insoles. The aforementioned gold finish arrives in multiple locations, with metallics on the tongies, lacestays, forefoot, tongue detail, collar and speckled through the outsole, while a matte finish is flaunted on the midsole Swoosh and lateral panel, as well as the upper eyelets. Other in-line ethe included is the modified Shanghai character on the tongue to incorporate their iconic Swoosh, along with “City of Speed” wording, which celebrate’s the city’s notoriety for fast trains; it houses the two fastest trains on Earth. reaching top speeds of 267.8 mph and 236.12 mph respectively.

Take in a peep at the official images below, and those local to the greater Shanghai region can expect to see these pop up in select Swoosh stores very soon.
