Unveiled last February alongside the Swoosh’s plans for the now-postponed Tokyo Olympics, the Nike Space Hippie initiative is carrying the torch for the brand’s focus on future sustainability. Across the four silhouettes, we’ve seen plenty of options arrive for the 04, but arguably the most revered from the collection thus far has been the 03 — despite it only having released in two colorways. Perhaps that can be pinned down to material scarcity — or perhaps a tactical ploy from the Swoosh — either way, we won’t’ have to wait much longer for the silhouette’s newest installment, with this Nike Space Hippie 03 “Racer Blue” set to arrive this Spring.
Like its predecessors, this option arrives with mid-grey woven uppers, and accents of vibrant, punchy hues. Here, the midfoot strap, rear tightener, and medial ankle stitch are show-stealers in a vibrant yellow hue, though it’s titular Racer Blue is just as bold on the pulls and medial ankle mesh. Tinges of red are fluttered into the weave the traditional mudguard positions, before reverting back to a greyscale Crater Foam sole unit beneath.
