Fittingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s favorite film is “Coming to America” (which he called “The Prince”), which retrospectively has a similar parallelled storyline to the Greek Freak’s rise to the top of the NBA. And now, in an official collaboration with Paramount Pictures arrives to honor the link to the MVP’s favorite film, headlined by a special edition of the reigning MVP’s debut signature sneaker, the Nike Air Zoom Freak 1 “Coming to America”

The entire kit of collectibles comes in black, embellished with animal print and rich gold accents to mimic the royal garb worn by Prince Akeem upon his formal entrance to the United States. For the sneaker, black mesh overlays keep a bold, leopard print upper in check, while white midsoles house a bold metallic gold oversized Swoosh. More flashes of fluff finish the heel overlays, while white liners, translucent outsole overlays, and medial Gold/-Yellow Swooshes complete the sneaker’s design. The box comes housed in a special-edition Metallic Gold box and a special card that displays a photo of Giannis dressed in Akeem’s duds, and it’s finished off with a little extra sauce; Pink flower petals that nods back to the movie when petals are thrown at the feet of King Jaffe.
