Nike Zoom GT Run “The Great Unity” Channels Confucian Texts

Drawing from classic Confucian texts and exploring The Great Unity idealogy — a Chinese utopian vision — the Nike Zoom GT Run is the latest installment in the philosophical series which already includes this Air Force 1 Low.

Significantly bolder in its approach to color than the Uptown, the Zoom GT Run is quite the opposite when it comes to showcasing elements from the vision. While the Air Force 1 opts for simple bone leather and decorative designs, this Zoom GT gears up in a bold black and white base with rainbow graidnet midsoles, and vibrant neon green accents throughout. However the two do crossover, with the AF1’s geometric designs featured at the toe, and rippling circular details at both the midfoot mesh and upper eyestays. the images are more overtly drawn down the right shoe’s tongue taping, and most obviously at the right heel pull which reads the pair’s title. The pair is then finished off with two-headed Swooshes at the midfoot, metallic midfoot plating, and a solid black rubber outsole underfoot.

Given the pair’s inspiration, the Nike Zoom GT Run “The Great Unity” may be an Asia-exclusive, but in any case, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
