Long-time hoops fans know that there’s only one home of streetball, and that is New York City’s Rucker Park. Its celebrity is unmatched around the globe, thanks to the occasional NBA star rolling into the Entertainers Basketball Classic, including Allen Iverson, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant, who dropped an incredible 66-point performance back in 2011. With the future of the season uncertain and the possibility of the schedule carrying over to the Summer months, we probably won’t be seeing any NBA stars head out there this year, but we will be getting something special from the league-sponsor, Nike. The Swoosh will be celebrating the epicenter of street hoops with a special-edition “Rucker Park” Nike Air Barrage Low, joining a similarity-themed Air Flight ’89 for release this Summer.

The Harlem park’s iconic basketball tournament is tributed through both color and embellishment, starting with the adoption of the unique white, burnt orange and black color scheme seen on the tournament’s branding and uniforms from over the years. Shoutouts to the sport itself are plentiful, with net-like mesh on the tongues, the key points on the insoles, and a direct reference to Rucker, the only one on the shoe, comes by-way-of the embroidered zip code on the heel — the area in New York of which Rucker sits almost perfectly at its center. It’s unclear from these official images if the pair will be accompanied by special Swooshed basketball bling, as seen on the aforementioned Flight 89.
