John McEnroe’s signature Nike sneaker from 1984 is poised to return in 2022, with Complex reporting a first-ever re-release of the Nike Mac Attack – and they’re bringing along a notable name to help kick things off.
Retailers and long-time Nike collaborators Social Status has been linked to a kick-off collaboration on the retro tennis model, the first of its kind on the silhouette. It’s also the first time ever that the model will return to the market; but it’s not the first time a return has been teased, with some of the Swoosh’s biggest names wearing pairs in recent years, including Travis Scott and LeBron James.

Update 03.18.23 First looks at the Social Status x Nike Mac Attack have arrived via NBA sneaker god PJ Tucker, who took to the ‘gram this week to share the pair. Delivered in a white mesh neutral suede upper, the pair proffers a heritage look befitting for the silhouette. Tear-away green satin trim rounds out the rear, showcasing a beautiful golden suede beneath. A sail-tinted midsole rests underfoot, and a classic gum rubber outsole below that.
