Borrusia Dortmund's PUMA Softride Slide Is Consolation for A Tough Bundesliga Season
Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e. V. Dortmund—better known as Borussia Dortmund or simply BVB—has had a tough 2024-25 Bundesliga season. And yet, the storied club has made it to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Ahead of its sure-to-be-tough match against FC Barcelona, the German squad has inspired a new lineup of PUMA products—including a new Softride Slide.
While visually similar to the Leadcat 2.0 that's already launched with BVB logos, PUMA's follow-up footwear style features a plusher cushioning system and better-molded footbed. The Softride compound is compression-molded EVA foam that delivers a lightweight, comfortable ride. Flex grooves across the outsole also contribute to the slides' performance, allowing the foot to bend freely whether watching the match at home or recovering after a tough session.
As Borussia Dortmund's official kit sponsor, PUMA has developed handfuls of different products for both club and its fans. The latest features the 116-year-old institution's yellow-and-black badge on the front strap, an emblem that'll take the Champions League stage on Wednesday, April 9.
Firm release details haven't been confirmed as of writing, but the BVB-branded Softride Slide is likely to land via PUMA.com by mid-May. The pair is priced at $45.
