LaMelo Ball is big on family. Throughout his time in the public eye, the California-native has showcased just how important his brothers, parents, and extended familial ties are. Perhaps this is why he and his PUMA family have teamed up with the Fast & Furious franchise.
No stranger to blockbuster collaborations, the duo's latest project turns back the clock to the early 2000s for inspiration. Fast X: Part 2 is still a year away, but LaMelo and the Big Cat Brand have over a handful of films to draw from for their takes on the MB.05 basketball shoe, LaFrancé and LaFrancé RNR designs. The PUMA MB silhouettes opt for the collection's most eye-catching makeovers, specifically pulling from the vehicles associated with Suki (portrayed by Devon Aoki) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). Color palettes and graphics from their respective Honda S2000 and Toyota Supra MK IV cars animate LaMelo's fifth signature model.
On the lifestyle side of things, other vehicles from the expansive world of Fast & Furious make appearances: Dominic Toretto's signature Dodge Charger R/T from 1970 lends its likeness to a LaFrancé RNR while the chunky PUMA LaFrancé sees a blue-striped silver upper à la O'Conner's Nissan Skyline GT-R R34.
Each pair arrives in custom and co-branded packaging.
