Rihanna is back with the latest offering from her recently-renewed Fenty x Puma partnership: the Creeper Phatty.
After taking a break from the sportswear scene, Rihanna has again teamed up with the German sportswear brand to bring fans a new chapter of fashionable footwear. The Fenty partnership, spearheaded by the Puma Creeper, made waves in the mid-2010s by putting a fashion-forward twist on classic Puma designs. With its platform sole, the collaboration drew fresh attention to Puma's archive, solidifying Rihanna's influence in the world of sneakers.
The Puma Creeper Phatty by Fenty retains all the beloved design elements that made the partnership a hit. Soft suede covers most of the shoe's upper, serving as the canvas for contrasting FORMSTRIP branding. The signature exaggerated sole unit of the Creeper makes a return, featuring gum brown accents. As the name "Phatty" suggests, this new silhouette boasts additional padding throughout the upper and inner lining. This design choice enhances comfort and aligns with the Y2K trend, which has popularized chunky skate shoe aesthetics from the past.
"We took our OG Creeper from 2015 and made it bigger and worse," Rihanna explained in an official press release. "When designing the Creeper Phatty, we wanted to reinvent the OG Creeper that was loved by so many. It's a classic silhouette that has been missed, so its return had to be bigger."
North American fans can get their hands on the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty starting on November 30th, while a global launch on Puma.com is scheduled for December 1st.
Pairs will be released in both adult and kids sizing.
