New York City-native, Ronnie Fieg, is never not working. Having already launched a number of important projects in the year's first quarter, the Kith-frontman has presented a special PUMA Clyde collaboration in honor of Walt Frazier's 80th birthday.
Unveiled via Instagram, the pair takes on an aesthetic inspired by wingtip oxford dress shoes. A glossy patent leather appears across the entirety of the upper, with decorative perforations landing on the toe box and along the profiles. Suede construction is abandoned in favor of the shimmering material as to create a stronger through-line to the source material and the New York Knicks legend's renowned sense of style. Sole units don't opt for a low heel, but their pitch-dark tone complements the elevated upper well. Frazier's jersey number appears on the heel. Co-branding appears on the left shoe's footbed, as well as both labels on the top-of-the-tongue. Shoe boxes also denote the collaboration.
Fieg has shared that only 80 pairs of the Clyde were made, with stock seemingly gifted only to Friends & Family of the parties involved. Pairs could eventually hit after-market platforms like StockX if someone decides to sell their gift.
