Icons of the past, present, and future.
PUMA is partnering up with telecommunication moguls Motorola on a limited-edition RS-X Tech sneaker drop. which celebrates the parallels of technology revolution between the respective industries.
For 90 years, Motorola has pioneered innovation: from delivering messages from the moon, to creating the first mobile phone or developing the first 5G-upgradable smartphone — the Moto z3 with 5G motomod — the celebrated brand definitely knows how to reinvent itself. As does PUMA, a brand who has seen a recent resurgence in both the on-court and lifestyle segments, the latter on full display with this special release.
The Motorolla x PUMA RS-X Tech highlights specific cues that celebrate the mobile phones of the 80s, 90s, and the 2000s From textures on the midsole’s forefoot reminiscent of a throwback phone’s keypad to its 90s-centric “hellomoto” branding hits, and quirky graphics that represent different milestones in the evolution of communication, from pagers to brick phones followed by QWERTY keypad phones, the sneaker is all encompassing of the thirty-year progression period. Continuing with this theme across season appropriate apparel like tees, track top and shorts. Take a peep at the sneaker and it’s campaign shots below, and look out for the pair to land with PUMA pushers and online at PUMA.com on May 4th for $130 USD.
