The PUMA MB.03 "GutterMelo" Debuts First as an NFT
In an enthralling fusion of style and boldness, PLEASURES and PUMA have teamed up for their first-ever collaboration, breathing new life into the recently launched Velophasis model with a head-turning pink overdyed execution. Drawing inspiration from the Y2K runner aesthetic, the Velophasis already boasts an exaggerated stature and stance, which is now further accentuated by PLEASURES’ audacious dye-job. The medley of materials and finishes across the sneaker's upper and sole creates a captivating spectrum, with each panel revealing a slightly different shade of pink.
Sarah Mayer, Head of Product Line Management at PUMA Sportstyle, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with PLEASURES and to share and mix each of our perspectives and points of view. We love PLEASURES’ ability to bring in varied references and touchpoints. With this new collaboration, the Velophasis gets a completely fresh look and feel with this DIY-inspired overdyeing effect.”
Echoing the sentiment, Alex James, Co-founder and Director of PLEASURES, said, “This is the start of a beautiful relationship. PUMA has such a cool history, and we can’t wait to bring the PLEASURES aesthetic into a new world.”
The PLEASURES x PUMA Velophasis is set to make its debut on June 21 at PLEASURES’ Paris Fashion Week showroom. This will be followed by a broader release on June 24 at select retailers.
