As a nod to the golden anniversary of hip hop, global sports behemoth PUMA is set to release the Mixtape collection. In collaboration with Roc Nation and Paper Planes co-founder Emory Jones and footwear designer Alexander John, this collection will stand as an ode to an enduring emblem of hip-hop culture - the mixtape.
Exclusively available at Foot Locker and Champs Sports, the Mixtape collection is an ensemble of apparel and footwear that embodies the essence of hip-hop and its revolutionary impact on music. The collection's centerpiece, the RS-XL sneaker, encapsulates this influence with three unique variations designed around the evolution of the mixtape - cassette tapes, CDs, and modern-day playlists.
Each RS-XL sneaker has a state-of-the-art "LGT Tag," an NFC-powered chip courtesy of Legitimate. When scanned, it unlocks a digital universe teeming with exclusive content, including weekly mixtape releases and an all-access pass to the Roc Nation artist experience. To access the secret trove of unreleased Roc Nation music and more, simply tap your phone to the RS-XL's tongue.
But the homage doesn't end with footwear. The Mixtape collection also includes an array of vibrant apparel - jackets, tees, and shorts adorned with daring graphics and designs inspired by music's rhythmic allure.
The Mixtape collection retails between $35-$130.
The collection will be available on Friday, July 14, both online and in-store, exclusively at Foot Locker and Champs Sports.
