The future is now.
On June 25, 1982, Warner Brothers Studios, in conjunction with director Ridley Scott dropped a sci-fi film that none of us would ever forget. Blade Runner. They introduced us into a future we’d never before imagined; a dystopian cityscape in which a cop is tasked with hunting down a fugitive band of synthetic humans known as Replicants, not knowing he’s embarking on a journey that will change his life forever. That futuristic city was Los Angeles, and the date: November 2019. And with that period fast approaching, PUMAwill turn to their ultra-futuristic RS-Xto deliver a special-edition “Blade Runner” colorway to tribute the film and its concurrent timeline.
Sporting a makeup not too dissimilar from the imagined appearance of the film’s dystopian Los Angeles cityscape, the pair arrives in murdered out black mesh, suede, and textured leather, paired with vibrant pops of neons, as reflected in the movie’s countless city scenes. Teal adorns the lateral branding, while pink-red hits the tongue and heel branding. A transparent TPU heel overlay sports a grid detail, and special graphic insoles complete the design.
