Salehe Bembury Previews Puma Running Shoe
As the world awaits for his all-new Puma Basketball signature sneaker, Salehe Bembury has treated fans to a look at a Deviate Nitro running shoe.
While far from the first pair the Los Angeles-based creative has teased from his work with the German sportswear brand, the runner serves as one of the best looks yet at what the public could expect from the partnership. Akin to much of his other work, the unreleased project features a number of nods to Bembury's 'fingerprint' pattern–a detail crucial to his Spunge brand.
Seemingly built upon Puma's Deviate Nitro 3, the pair is cushioned by a plush NITROFOAM™ midsole that provides not only a bold look, but also impressive comfort and responsiveness. The component's typical mold, however, has been reworked à la Salehe Bembury; recycled mesh uppers also follow suit, with the Formstripe on the lateral profile opting for a fragmented look. Co-branding lands on the medial heel, cementing the New York City-born creative within Puma's long history.
Bembury has yet to disclose official release details, but his Deviate Nitro and other Puma collaborations could debut before the year ends.
