Salehe Bembury's PUMA Velum NITRO™ Running Shoe Returns Feb. 7

UPDATE 01.26.26 Salehe Bembury is set to release a third PUMA Velum NITRO™ project on Saturday, Feb. 7. This style, clad in a "Magenta Gleam/Dusky Gray" color scheme, sees a wider launch than debut options.

UPDATE 09.25.25 Salehe Bembury took to Instagram to confirm a global launch for his PUMA Velum NITRO™ collaboration. Two pairs will release via his own website and PUMA channels on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

ORIGINAL STORY As the world awaits for his all-new PUMA Basketball signature sneaker, Salehe Bembury has treated fans to a look at a NITRO™-cushioned running shoe.

Initially believed to be part of the Deviate NITRO™ series, the design has been unveiled as the PUMA Velum NITRO™ ahead of June's Paris Fashion Week. Akin to much of his other work—including Tyrese Haliburton's Hali 1, the unreleased project features a number of nods to Bembury's "fingerprint" pattern, a detail crucial to his Spunge brand.

Built similarly to the aforementioned Deviate NITRO™ 3, the pair is cushioned by a plush NITROFOAM™ midsole that provides not only a bold look, but also impressive comfort and responsiveness. The component's typical mold, however, has been reworked à la Salehe Bembury; recycled mesh uppers follow suit, with the Formstripe on the lateral profile opting for a fragmented look. Co-branding lands on the medial heel, cementing the New York City-born creative within PUMA's long history.

Bembury and the Big Cat Brand will debut the Velum NITRO™ in Paris on Wednesday, June 25. One hundred early pairs will be available to the public at 18 Rue Saint Gilles beginning at 12 p.m. local time.
