Two sneakers you can’t refuse!
PUMA has linked up with the greatest film saga of all-time, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, to deliver two PUMA Roma releases that you cannot refuse!
Inspired by two integral locations to the saga’s first installment, Woltz International Pictures, and Louis Resturant, the two-pack of Romas arrive in vastly different makeups.
The “Woltz” pair, inspired by the exterior walls of the Corleone-backed studios — and owned by the receiver of the severed horse head breakfast in bed, Jack Woltz — sports a supple “Windchime” bone upper, paired with striking black contrast hits on the midsole, “Woltz” and PUMA branding hits on the lateral side, and on the underlays. “GF” filmstrip motifs cascade down the extended tongue pull, while co-branded insoles complete the design.
The “Louis” pair arrives inspired by the meeting spot for Virgil Sollozzo and the Corleones, deemed safe and neutral, thanks to the presence of Police Captain McCluskey. Michael Corleone played everyone, by busting out a hidden revolver, and assassinates both Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey in one epically tense scene. As the scene was shot at night, the sneaker arrives in a fitting jet black, with the restaurant’s neon sign burning bright on the tongue. It’s debossed leather upper is reminiscent of the restaurant’s floor tile pattern, with special GF motifs appearing in the corners. Sultry black suede overlays hit the tongue, while stark pops of white hit the overlays and midsole. In tribute to the bloody scene, deep red underlays and midsole hits remind us of just how savage the Corleone family can be.
