Allen Iverson’s Reebok Answer IV has enjoyed a return to form in 2021, with several key releases of the silhouette feeding a long-hungry market. The next to appear is one that draws an immediate comparison to a classic Air Jordan sneaker, despite not being the pair’s key influence. As you would have guessed, this Reebok Answer IV “Faded Flu Game” looks remarkably similar to the infamous Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” thanks to its tumbled black leather upper and sweeping red forefoot. Of course, Mike’s colorway does not fade away to black in the back, but it does dissipate down into the sole for a minimal pop in the back — as does this Reebok — which makes the compassion all the more suited.
The actual inspiration? Japan.
The link to the Olympic nation is seen in both color selection and at the ankle strap’s three-strike logo (the Japanese symbol for 3, san).
