Last seen in late 2012, Allen Iverson’s Reebok Answer IV has been one of those retros in high demand for a reissue from a small handful of diehard fans. Although the wait has been a long one, A.I. fanatics can finally rejoice, with breaking news of the OG White/Red/Grey colorway’s return next month.
Though Allen Iverson’s prime days are over, his signature shoe remains a classic. The Reebok Answer IV brings us back to the days when everyone wanted to wear low-cut, bulky basketball sneakers as a shift away from the Mids and Highs that dominated before it. Though not yet sighted (2012’s pair is pictured above and below) the release is expected to be a one-for-one retro of the original, including tumbled and smooth leather finishes in white and red, with grey midsoles and midfoot rise. The zip-up shroud will return, as will the bulk and overall aggressive aesthetic that the Anser IV is best known for.
Update 03.18.21 A release date for the return of the Reebok Answer IV OG “White/Red” was originally scheduled for March 12th, but a last-minute delay now sees pairs dropping on April 15th. In addition to the new info, official images of the 2021 reissue have also arrived below.
