A childhood staple, Hasbro’s “Candy Land” has served bored kids during blackouts for seven decades. Like most of us, the overly simplistic and brightly colorful game has seemingly left an impact on Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson, who brings the famed board game to his Reebok Question for the celebration of the silhouette’s 25th anniversary.
An official collaboration with Hasbro, the pair’s signature pink striped Candy Land logo rests atop a white tongue tip — the most unassuming segment of the pair. From there, we find an array of elements found on the playing surface, from rolling green grassy hills at the tongue which literally take on a grass-like appearance, to candy-themed accents at the rear. Sweet, chocolatey patent leather hit the rear panel, with waffle cone-line collars and pink detailing for a delicious touch, while mid panels direct you to the infamous Rainbow Trail. Inside the shoe, you’ll find classical “Start” notification on the tongues, while co-branded insoles rest beneath, and on the outsole, you’ll find more callouts to the surrounding green hills, with grassy outsoles flecked with glittery goodness. Completing the design is a medial line reading “An Allen Iverson Shoe” — an ode to the traditional “A Milton Bradley (Hasbro) Game” under the board’s logo — and a red Candy Land playing piece hand tag complete with his signature smile.
Expected to release alongside an unsighted Kamikaze, the Reebok Question Mid “Candy Land” has been penciled in for an April 21st/23rd release, with stores like JD Sportand Finish Line listing pairs for a 10 am ET release. Grab an official look at the pair here below, and if you are planning on picking up a pair on the day, make sure you head to our dedicated Reebok Release Dates Calendar to set yourself a reminder for the drop.
Update 03.23.21 A first and official look at the colorful Reebok Kamikaze II “Candy Land” has arrived. Though what it lacks in themed elements, it makes up in pure vibrance. Patent leather uppers of yellow, green, blue, and orange join purple and red midsole detail and raspberry-tinted outsoles for a sugar-overdose arrangement. Candy Land branding at the tongue and insoles keeps things on-theme to complete the design.Reebok Question Mid “Candy Land”
