"Brandin Podziemski" might not be a household name, but the shooting guard has been important to the Gold State Warriors' 2024-25 NBA season. There's no telling how the Western Conference squad's full year will pan out, but what's certain is that the 22-year-old is the latest professional hooper to get his own signature sneaker: the Rigorer BP1.
Set to launch via KICKS CREW on April 12, Podziemski's first silhouette falls in line with other high-performing designs from the Chinese sportswear brand. A breathable mesh upper works in-tandem with Showtime foam underfoot to create a supportive and lightweight ride that doesn't sacrifice comfort nor responsiveness. A TPU plate appears on the lateral forefoot for stability and containment, while also drawing inspiration from the Golden Gate Bridge. Vortex rubber across the outsole delivers robust traction, with the three circular sections underneath the forefoot assisting with direction changes. Lastly, an X-shaped torsional system speaks to Rigorer's performance-first design approach while also contributing to the pair's color palette.
The BP1 will debut in two story-driven styles: "Kaleidoscope" and "1962." The former speaks to Podz's versatile, ever-evolving hame and admiration for fellow Warriors teammate, Steph Curry. It features a pink and silver execution that differs from the Golden State-inspired makeover that lands on the accompanying pair. The "1962" look commemorates the NBA franchise's founding year and represents the future of not only the team, but also the League and Rigorer.
