SC’s Sneaker and Saucony Sauce-Up the Jazz in Honor of National Mustard Day

    Tangy trainers.

South Carolina is a saucy state, one that’s known for its unique mustard-based BBQ condiments. So when Charelston-based sneaker boutique Sneakers got the tap from Sauconyfor a collaborative capsule — what else would they be inspired by? Especially when it coincides with National Mustard Day (yeah, that’s a thing).

The Saucony Jazz’s yellow suede-and-nylon upper draws directly from the color of the sauce, while rich navy accents on the quarter’s overlaid logo, tongue badge, and heel are reminiscent of backyard grills. Sneaker serves up a slew of extra sauce, too, with the heel overlay sporting embroidered Sneaker text logos, and an extra set of burger-basket checkerboard laces sealed in a sauce packet.

Pairs dropped yesterday in-store at Sneaker Charleston alongside a free-to-attend BBQ, but are now available online, directly from the store’s official website for a mere $80.
