This Store is What Dreams are Made of

Thanks to SoleCollector, we get an inside look at Foot District’s new out-of-this-world flagship store in Madrid.

One of the highlights of the store is an interactive Air Jordan room that allows customers to relive Michael Jordan’s playing days and the history of his legendary sneaker line. A curved LED screen, showing game highlights, commercials and documentaries, is activated when a customer lifts one of the 14 3D miniature Air Jordans on display above a video based on the model. The idea is to educate during the retail process.

The Jordan Room is just one element of an overall next level design that represents the connection between the digital and real world, captured by a strategically located 3D printer. By implementing this technology, Sneaker District salutes the future of sneaker manufacturing. Additionally, in recreating a city space and urban scenery, they included a thin layer of cement and polished fence that serves as the entrance to the Jordan room.
