Rasheed Wallace’s most memorable Finals moment gets celebrated

    Don’t poke the bear.

During the third quarter of Game 4 of the 2004 NBA Finals, the Lakers’ Slava Medvedenko thought he’d poke the bear that was Rasheed Wallace. After a light scuffle, Medvedenko threw an elbow into the big boy’s chest in an attempt to assert himself. While we all expected a typical Wallace reaction, usually resulting in a tech or ejection, we got quite the opposite.

Sheed went on the offense – and we’re not talking about shaping up for a fist fight. He went on a tear shooting 6 of 10 after the confrontation. He finished with 26 points and 13 boards, leading the Pistons to clinch game 4, priming Detroit to claim the series in 5 games.

Sheed’s Air Force 1 High “Rude Awakening” edition celebrates this iconic event as part of Nike’s “Champions Think 16” Pack. His memorable on-court sneaker comes decked out in crispy white and Pistons blue, and it comes complete with Sheed’s mantra “Ball Don’t Lie” etched across the high strap, his number 30 on the heel and the iconic jump shot silhouette on the ankle.
