After returning in both an OG colorway and in collaboration with Jayson Tatum, 2002’s obscure Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low will welcome in the new year with a new colorway: “Sport Royal”
Inspired by, and utilizing elements of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker, the low-top silhouette hit the market with a head of steam back at the turn of the Century, long before the ridicule of Mids and hybrids became ingrained into the culture. You’ll note some fairly obvious callouts to the Air Jordan 1, including toe boxes, and its oversized debossed Wings logos, whilst more contemporary panels, unstructured collars, and modified sole units give the pair its early 00’s charm.
Like the recently-released “Chicago” colorway, this arrives with a black and white base popped with one accompanying color — this one merely swapping the OG red pops for the titular blue hue.
