If you've been paying attention to the world of street-ready footwear over the last eight months, you should be familiar with the OTW by Vans "Souvenir" collection. Originally spearheaded by Greg Betty (now at Jordan Brand), the Old Skool 36 project has become a cultural force.
Betty has gone on record to share with his social media following that he was only responsible for the first handful of "Souvenir" makeovers. The concept famously draws inspiration from Chanel's Graffiti Messenger Bag from 2014's "On the Pavement" collection. The distressed, ornate look has won over audiences everywhere, and the OTW by Vans team aims to capitalize on this popularity.
Throughout Summer 2026, at least three new colorways of the "Souvenir" theme will launch at select shops: "Asphalt," "Black," and "Navy." Each option is built with elevated materials, arrives with eye-catching pins on the profiles, and sees pre-made wear-and-tear. All of these elements have helped make the project what it is, nodding to a celebrated part of recent Chanel design history in the process.
