Vans Gives the Skate Shoe a Loafer Makeover

Vans is cleaning things up with a new take on the Skate Loafer, bringing dress-shoe influence into the brand’s familiar skate-ready world.

Available now in Black and Dachshund Brown, the silhouette trades traditional laces for a low-profile loafer build finished with moc-toe stitching and polished silver hardware across the vamp. Both pairs keep the look simple, letting the suede construction do most of the work.

The Dachshund Brown colorway leans into a warmer, more traditional loafer feel with tonal brown suede and a matching sole, while the Black pair goes fully monochromatic apart from the silver hardware.

Despite the dressier appearance, the model still carries plenty of Vans DNA through its low-profile shape, vulcanized-style tooling, and casual proportions. It lands somewhere between a classic penny loafer and a skate shoe without pushing too far in either direction.

The Vans Skate Loafer is available now for $85 in both Black and Dachshund Brown.
