China’s third-largest home-grown sports brand, Xtep, is making serious waves in the Chinese hoops market after signing Jeremy Lin to an endorsement deal. The brand is widely known for its running products but is pursuing more of the local basketball market share by leveraging the biggest Chinese off-season signee since the NBA lockout. Lin’s already a household name in China, thanks to his cultural background and subsequent annual tours with his previous company adidas. Lin is now the only basketball and non-Chinese ambassador of the brand, and he’s kicking off his deal with a bang: the Xtep Jeremy Lin Levitation 4.
The low-cut model is constructed in mesh, and is paired with TPU overlays, a J-Lin logo on the lateral, white midsoles and icy outsoles — but its the bold pops of metallic iridescent finishes on the midsole and heel pull. The pair also features a midfoot plate, a-la the Air Jordan 34.
Pairs are available right now from Xtep’s official TMall store for ¥ 599 (Approx $80 USD).
