The high-profile split between Kanye West and adidas has left the future of the YEEZY footwear linage up in the air. adidas has stated that they will continue to release designs under a new name, as they own the IP and designs associated with the line. But without the YEEZY name attached, hype and profitability come into question. Furthermore, how will the product lines develop? Or will they remain locked into silhouettes previously released? Now, more ambiguity has been shrouded upon that discussion, with a first look at the YEEZY 700 V4 appearing ahead of an intended release in 2023.
Designed, sampled, and produced before the split, this new Foam Runner/700v3 crossover was still technically devised during Kanye’s time at the Three Stripes, but it may well be the first new model released afterward. It’s hard to say if the market will lap it up or leave it on the shelf, but either way, it will be one that is spoken about for a while.
Design-wise, the pair borrows heavily from the 700v3 but delivers the silhouette in a one-piece foam mold. It comes with a neoprene inner bootie — sans laces.
