As Kanye West's tenure at Adidas neared its end, the artist made a distinctive pivot from vibrant footwear to the robust aesthetics of boots, and birthing models like the NSTLD BT and Knit RNR BT. Although the Adidas-Yeezy collaboration has concluded, the legacy persists as Adidas reinvigorates a classic from the Yeezy boot lineup. This news brings to fruition the reports from last year hinting at the return of the beloved Yeezy 950.
The Yeezy 950, a fusion of the duck boot and combat boot aesthetics, boasts a hefty design. Its upper is composed of a durable ballistic mesh, fortified with a rubber toe overlay extending back to the heel. A premium suede overlay running up the center of the boot houses weather-resistant rope laces, exhibiting a tonal harmony with all previously released colorways. Additional suede detailing graces the tongue divided between Adidas branding on the left and Yeezy on the right.
Incorporating luxury into its utility-focused design, the boot features a leather internal sock liner that complements the co-branded Adidas and Yeezy foam insole. The boot sits atop a robust rubber midsole paired with a rugged outsole, etched with an outdoor-ready traction pattern.
The anticipated Adidas Yeezy 950 "Pirate Black" is scheduled for a return soon and will be available through Adidas Confirmed and select Yeezy retailers, both online and in physical stores.
